Raining in Gwynedd Watercolour/Ink |
Two paintings entered and accepted this year at the North Wales Open at Clwyd Theatr Cymru, Mold, North Wales.
It's been a busy year so far, lots of walking, visiting familiar and unfamiliar areas, with a great deal of sketching and colour notes prepared. There will be many paintings completed over the next couple of months in time for this year's Helfa Gelf.
Cedryn panorama Pastel on board
My first painting of Cedryn was over 20 years ago. Remote and isolated at the end of a valley with dark mountains as neighbours. Cedryn was abandoned many years ago. This painting is also available as a limited edition print.
Raining in Gwynedd Watercolour/Ink
The forecast was for the rain in the morning to clear followed by sunny intervals. The sun did not materialise! Gwynedd is full of these lovely rusting gates with fabulous slabs of slate, cold to the touch but rich in colour when wet.
