A lot of snow has been dumped on my paintings lately. Yesterday someone asked me if I specialise in snow. If it's Winter and it snows and I'm out painting then I do specialise in snow. Sketching becomes more frantic, the fingers are bluer and I am more aware of my toes than I am in the Summer months.Moel Famau from Eryrys started life as a series of quick pen and ink sketches and colour notes on layout paper which were then transferred onto board with a good dusting of snowflakes.
